Project Reindeer Delivers to Indianapolis Community

This year, the YMCA’s Breakfast With Santa looked different than ever before, but the challenges of 2020 didn’t diminish the impact of this event on the Indianapolis community…or the enthusiasm of our team at presenting sponsor Christie Farrell Lee & Bell to show our Christmas Spirit with style!

Thanks to the support of six additional corporate sponsors and 100 individual donors, the YMCA at the Athenaeum was able to deliver three gifts, a book, and a stocking full of goodies to 204 children at five Indianapolis shelters. Originally, only four shelters were selected, but the generosity of the community made it possible to spread even more Christmas cheer.

In addition, 296 donated gift cards made it possible for the families to share meals together, while 92 adults received gifts of blankets. Overall, 612 gifts were distributed to families in need.

Over 75 volunteer hours were scheduled and structured to help achieve these goals in a safe and socially-distanced environment. Sorting, storing, and wrapping the gifts was carried out with cheerful efficiency that we know made Santa proud, even if he couldn’t attend like usual.

People Giving out Gifts for Christmas

Every year that CFLB serves as the presenting sponsor of Breakfast With Santa, the Central Indiana community surprises us more and more with generosity, resilience, and a commitment to helping others. We are so grateful to see that this year, these values have not been interrupted. To all who volunteered, donated, and received support from the program, we wish a very Happy Holiday—and to everyone else as well.
